We may be a few days into July, but it’s not too late to discuss June reads! How many books did you read this month? Did you have a favourite? And have you set a July TBR? I read six books, included an anthology of horror short stories, two books by Australian debut authors, and a sci-fi YA series. Here’s a list of what I read and my ratings for each book!
Queens of Fennbirn : 5/5 | Full review here
A pair of prequel novellas from The Three Dark Crowns series. A must read for fans of the main books!
Slasher Girls and Monster Boys : 4.75/5 | Full review to come ASAP!
An absolutely delightful short story anthology featuring works from authors such as Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu and Jay Kristoff.
Scythe : 4/5 | Full review here
Cool premise, thought provoking book. Very heavy on the action, minimal character development.
Neverland : 4/5 | Full review here
Gorgeous writing and a beautiful seaside setting, with echoes of Peter Pan and Treasure Island.
A Thousand Perfect Notes : 4/5 | Full review here
A contemporary YA novel about music, first love, and family. Written by popular blogger C.G. Drews, aka @paperfury.
Thunderhead : 2.5/5 | Full review here
Still an interesting premise, but I can’t say I enjoyed this one. It’s got a flashy writing style and a dramatic ending, but it lacks depth.
Though I rated Queens of Fennbirn the highest, my favourite read this month was definitely Slasher Girls and Monster Boys, I can’t wait to write my review and discuss the book with you guys!
